The show has launched its first collection of promotional pictures featuring its protagonist, Katharine McPhee – as well as some other onstage photographs. The musical, still in previews, has already extended its run thanks to public demand, apart from organising several events where fans and genre loves will be in direct contact with the creative team.
Less than a week away from its official opening in London, the musical Waitress is leaving a sugary mark in the West End. With its premiere planned for March 7th, the show has already extended its run until October 19th due to public demand. On the other hand, the production has already organized its first Cast Album Karaoke Night – where theatregoers could fulfill the dream of singing on a professional stage. This experience will come back soon – this time accompanied by the show’s musical director. But the icing on the cake is its very protagonist, Katharine McPhee, whose first promotional pictures haven been published this very week.
Onstage images have also been released, with a cast including Emmy-nominee Jack McBrayer (30 Rock) in the role of Ogie, Marisha Wallace as Becky, Laura Baldwin as Dawn, Peter Hannah as Earl, David Hunter as Dr. Pomatter and Shaun Prendergast as Old Joe. Based on Adrienne Shelly’s 2007 film, the plot centers around Jenna, a waitress and pie-making expert that dreams of leaving her small town and rocky marriage. Her own recipes will be a reflection of her feelings – and an open door to a new life, as long as she finds the courage to seize the opportunity and use the perfect ingredients to achieve true happiness.
Waitress will be perfomed from Monday to Saturday at the Adelphi Theatre at 7:30 pm – matinees on Wednesday and Saturday at 2:30 pm. Tickets are available from 25 pounds and can be purchased at the box office from 10 am, at the 24 hour booking number (020 7087 7753) and at the show’s website.
