It’s the final countdown! As productions begin to announce their return to the London stage, some other are warming up their engines to go on the road by next spring. Followed by a sold-out tour during the 2018/19 season, Dan Looney, Adam Paulden, Jason Haigh-Ellery and Richard Klin for DLAP Entertainment are delighted to reveal that the internationally renowned show Rock of Ages will be back on track from the beginning of May.
A love tale set in LA, the musical has been a smash hit in the West End, Broadway and Las Vegas, told through over 25 rock anthems including We Built This City, The Final Countdown, Here I Go Again, Can’t Fight this Feeling and I Want To Know What Love Is. Directed and coreographed by Nick Winston (The Royal Variety Performance, Annie and The Wedding Singer) , the show features a book by Chris D’Arienzo and set design by by Morgan Large (The Woman in White, Top Hat and The Christmasaurus).
The production will open at the Portsmouth King Theatre – to be followed by multiple locations all around the country, including the Birmingham Alexandra Theatre, the Edinburgh Playhouse, the Blackpool Opera House and the Cardiff New Theatre, among many others. All of this in order to bring back the story that, as its creators have stated, will allow audiences to, “lose themselves in a city and a time where the dreams are as big as the hair, and yes, they can come true!”.
Tickets for the tour’s first stop, which will be playing from May 2th to 8th, are already available on the following link. New venues will be announced soon on the show’s official webpage.
