Lambert Jackson presents this original recorded version of Jason’s Robert Brown well-known work, which explores the choices we all must make in life. Shot during the first lockdown, the piece serves as a reflection of the state of the world during last summer and will be available for a whole week on Stream.Theatre.
“It’s about one moment. It’s about hitting the wall and having to make a choice…”. Jason Robert Brown’s powerful lyrics echo through the making of this brand new production featuring his best-known work. Live entertainment has been hanging on the tightrope for almost a year – its obstacles booming practically all over the world. And yet, those responsible for the most touching evening (sometimes matinee) experiences have made their decision – to not let the performing arts die.
Next week, the online broadcast platform Stream.Theatre will release a recorded lockdown version of Songs for a New World, a musical-song cycle hybrid that examines life and the options lying around us. Directed by Seímí Campbell, the cast includes internationally renowned performers such as Ramin Karimloo (The Phantom of the Opera, Les Misérables), Cedric Neal (Motown), Rachel Tucker (Wicked, Come From Away) and Rachel John (Hamilton) – all of them starring in what will also serve as a a reflection of the state of the world during last summer.
Organised by Lambert Jackson, the show is also introducing new actor Shem Omari James, who recently took part in the London Palladium montage of the same play. The creative team is completed by Adam Hoskins (musical supervision), Josh Winstone (musical direction) and Danny Kaan (video editing). This production is one of the many offers currently available on Stream.Theatre, which allows audiences to enjoy stage entertainment and provides artists with all the necessary tools to broadcast their content, including ticketing and box office solutions, full-service video capture and a range of transmission options.
Songs for a New World will be available on Stream.Theatre for a week starting on February 21st – when it will premiere at 7:30 pm. Tickets can be purchased on the following link.
