The concert will pay homage to the history of American musical theatre, with a repertoire encompassing some of the genre’s most beloved tunes. Produced by Fourth Wall Live, the show will also feature Andy Einhorn and the London Musical Theatre Orchestra.
Six Tony Awards, two Grammys, one Emmy. And while we’re on it, can I also have a Broadway sensation too? I really feel like treating myself! No kidding – this is really happening and you don’t have to take a 6-hour flight to make this dream come true. Audra McDonald is coming back to London next year, in a brand new concert celebrating the history of our favourite genre. Along with Andy Einhorn and the London Musical Theatre Orchestra, Audra will take us into a journey through the Great American Songbook – featuring the biggest hits from the Great White Way.
“London is one of my favourite cities on the planet—I love it so much”, says McDonald. “There was a time when I was working and performing in London at least once a year. I’ve missed it so very much so the fact I’m getting the chance to return in this way is a joy for me. Come on out because I can’t wait to see you all. It’s been a while and I can’t wait to be in a theatre with you again.”
McDonald’s amazing career features a wide variety of television, theatre and cinema credits, which highlights include Carousel, Master Class, Ragtime, ABC’s Private Practice and PBS’s Live From Lincoln Centerhe and even Disney’s 2017 film Beauty and the Beast. She has already taken part in several concerts in this country, like A Christmas Carol (Dominion Theatre), The Best of the West End (Royal Albert Hall) and Lucie Jones Live at the Adelphi (Adelphi Theatre). This event is produced by Fourth Wall Live, a live entertainment company focused on international gigs with broad experience in bringing Broadway well-known artists to the UK, such as Jeremy Jordan, Matthew Morrison, Laura Benanti, Sierra Boggess, Kelli O’Hara, Chita Rivera, Laura Michelle Kelly, Megan Hilty, Eden Espinosa and Julia Murney, among many others.
Audra McDonald will perform on September 25th 2022. Tickets will be available for pre-sale on Wednesday 15 December at 10.00 am (UK time) and for general sale on Friday 17 December at the same time. They can be purchased on the following link.
