The world’s most famous live whodunnit will hit the road by the end of the year, beginning a tour that will extend throughout 2023 and 2024 and that will include every major city and town in both the UK and Ireland. Currently holding the record of the longest-running play, this new production will start at the very place where it was first played back in the 50s before moving to the West End.
They say there’s no such thing as the perfect crime. But here’s one that’s proven very hard to be solved – for after 28,500 performances and over 10 million tickets sold, the fatal events of Monkswell Manor still continue to ensnare audiences night by night. However, as much difficult as it might be to find out who did the evil deed, it doesn’t take Hercules Poirot to guess the mastermind behind it – or the reason of its success. The Queen of Murder has stricken again, as it has been done for way more than half a century! Agatha Christie’s long-running play The Mousetrap is about to turn 7 decades in the West End, and the homage couldn’t be more breathtaking.
“What better way to celebrate 70 glorious years of The Mousetrap by taking Agatha Christie’s world-famous whodunnit to over 70 towns and cities throughout the UK and Ireland”, says producer Adam Spiegel. “A true British classic, this beloved tale of intrigue and suspense is as enthralling today as it was when it first opened in 1952 and I am thrilled that audiences, of all ages, and from all corners of the country, will have the chance to see it in their local theatres”.

First performed at the Theatre Royal Nottingham before transferring to London, this new touring production will open at the very same place where it had its world premiere, to be followed by other many stops such as Dublin, Cork, Brighton, Birmingham, Liverpool, Oxford, Bath, Manchester, Norwich, Malvern, Newcastle, Coventry, Chesterfield, Southampton, York, Cardiff, Plymouth, Perth, Edinburgh and Glasgow, among others. The show will keep on the road throught 2023 and even 2024, with further places to be announced in due time.
The Mousetrap tour will begin on September 26th. Tickets can be purchased on the following link.
