C.S. Lewis’s worldwide beloved tale will land on the Gillian Lynne Theatre’s stage after a much successful UK and Ireland tour. Directed by Michael Fentiman, this spectacular production centers around the fantastic adventures of four children in Narnia, a magical faraway land inhabited by the most fascinating creatures.
Winter is coming earlier this year. And it’s not due to climate change (at least in this case) or some GOT publicity stunt. Instead we are talking about a world made of dreams, the kind which come from magic and adventure. Narnia is relocating again in the UK, this time to be one more realm in the land of the theatre. The acclaimed stage adaptation of C.S. Lewis’s masterpiece is arriving in the West End in less than two months – with widely-known actress Samantha Womack in the role of the heartless Witch.
“The production celebrates the magic of live theatre and is led by a multi-talented cast of actors, singers, musicians, dancers and puppeteers; it is a celebration of the possibilities of the collective imagination and the boundless wonders of individual skill”, explains director Michael Fentiman. “This story, about a community battling hardship in the darkest of winters, who together find freedom again in the light of summer, couldn’t be more pertinent for these times”.

Produced by Elliott & Harper Productions and Catherine Schreiber, the play revolves around the worldwide acclaimed tale of Edmund, Peter, Lucy and Susan, who will step away from the gloomy times of war to embark on a epic thrilling trip in a faraway land – while making some new friends, and enemies…, including Mr Tumnus the faun, talking beavers, Aslan (the noble king of Narnia) and the coldest, most evil White Witch. The rest of the cast will be announced in due course, while the creative team is formed by Set and Costume Designer Tom Paris, Composers Benji Bower and Barnaby Race and Choreographer Shannelle ‘Tali’ Fergus, among others.
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe will begin performances on July 17th. Tickets are already available and can be purchased on the following link.
