Mischief’s new comedy continues its run in Colchester before transferring to its two upcoming destinations in the UK this autumn. Set in a television network, the plot centers around the broadcast of an underwritten children’s show, with many surprises (none of them pleasant) to come!
On air in three, two, one… Let the party begin! The hellish party, that is, because absolutely nothing fun can arise from a children’s show with a half-written script, an exceeded budget and a audience ready to bite (perhaps literally…). Unless, of course, you’re the one watching it. The cameras are already rolling for Mischief’s new disaster comedy, Good Luck Studio, as the production continues its limited run in Colchester before travelling to its two next destinations across the UK this autumn. After getting a first glimpse of the delightful horrors waiting onstage, we finally get to see how the whole nightmare really looks like!
Written by Henry Shields, this dark humour play is presented by Mercury and Wiltshire Creative, by arrangement with Kenny Wax Ltd and Stage Presence Ltd. Set in a television network, the story revolves around the filming of Wibble the Dragon. With still an hour to go and the kids getting more and more impatient (spare no screams!), the worst is yet to come… Careers are to end and heads are to roll (maybe not just as a figure of speech), as the last thing thing anyone needs (or expects) is a failed actor trying to get his sinister vendetta in a dragon costume.
Directed by Henry Lewis, the cast is formed by Adam Byron (Anthony), Bryony Corrigan (Saoirse), Eboni Dixon (Pam), Jemma Geanaus (Elizabeth), Harry Kershaw (Sean), Chris Leask (Toby), Greg Tannahill (Kevin), Gareth Tempest (David Cooper-Brown), Sophia Lorenti (Michaela) and Tom Walker (Andy). Designs are by Sara Perks, with lighting design by David Howe, sound design by Alexandra Faye Braithwaite, composition by Richard Baker, fight direction by Greg Tannahill and casting by Jenkins McShane Casting.
Good Luck, Studio plays at Colchester’s Mercury Theatre until 15 October, to be then transferred to Salisbury Playhouse, Wiltshire from 18 October to 5 November and followed by the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, Guildford from 8 to 12 November. Tickets are available on the following link.
