‘The Phantom of the Opera’ announces new cast starting this month

The London production will welcome half a new set of leads starting at the end of July. One of the longest-running shows in theatre history, the musical tells the story of a deformed genius madly in love with a beautiful young soprano.

It seems the ghost from so many years ago can’t be frightened away, after all. Still remaining as both a London and international musical favourite, The Phantom of the Opera continues to write new chapters in its record-breaking life. Starting on 31 July, His Majesty’s Theatre will welcome some late arrivals to keep alive the music of the night – who will be accompanied by some other recent newcomers and some long-staying troupe members.

Lily Kerhoas joins the company as Christine Daaé, with Joe Griffiths-Brown as Raoul, David Kristopher-Brown as Ubaldo Piangi and Maiya Hikasa as Meg Giry. Continuing in the show will be Jon Robyns as The Phantom, Kelly Glyptis as Carlotta Giudicelli, Adam Linstead as Monsieur André, Matt Harrop as Monsieur Firmin and Francesca Ellis as Madame Giry.  In addition, the role of Christine Daaé will be played by Paige Blankson at certain performances. The company is completed by Hollie Aires, Federica Basile, Corina Clark, Michael Colbourne, Leonard Cook, Colleen Rose Curran, Lily De-La-Haye, Hywel Dowsell, Connor Ewing, Serina Faull, Florence Fowler, James Gant, Melanie Gowie, Eilish Harmon-Beglan, Yukina Hasebe, Samuel Haughton, Thomas Holdsworth, Jacob Hughes, Grace Hume, Tim Morgan, Eve Shanu-Wilson, Tim Southgate, Zoë Soleil Vallée, Jasmine Wallis, Victoria Ward, Ralph Watts, Simon Whitaker, and Andrew York.

Currently in its 37th staggering year, The Phantom of the Opera tells the haunting tale of a musical genius cast away from society due to his hideous deformity. With a lavish score by Andrew Lloyd Webber, lyrics by Charles Hart and original direction and choreography by Harold Prince and Gillian Lynne respectively, the show is a lush romantic extravaganza of unrequited love, passion and terror.

The Phantom of the Opera plays at London’s His Majesty’s Theatre from Monday to Saturday. Tickets are available on the following link.
