‘Plaza Suite’, starring Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker, releases sale dates

One of the most successful play productions in Broadway history travels to London for a strictly limited run at the start of next year. Also featuring an all Tony Award winning creative team, the show tells the story of three different couples and their hilarious affairs taking place in a hotel room.

I couldn’t help but wonder what’s made this play such a big success in the Great White Way. Well, those questions are closer to being answered (it is theatre, though…), as Neil Simon’s Broadway hit is starting the arrangements to make a splash on the other side of the Atlantic. Starring film and television veterans Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker, this new comedy revival will be performed for a strictictly limited run by the begging of the next year, with its booking period to be opened onThursday 14 September at 10.00 am for priority (sign up list closes on Wednesday 13 September at 4.00pm) and for general on Friday 15 September, also at 10.00 am.

Set within the captivating allure of New York’s Plaza Hotel, the piece tells the separate stories of three couples – all to be played by the legendary duo. First, we have Karen and Sam, a long-married pair whose relationship may be headed for an early checkout. Next come Muriel and Jesse former high school sweethearts who seem destined for an extended stay. And finally, we’ll be meeting with Norma and Roy, the mother and father of the bride, ready to celebrate their daughter’s nuptials – if only they can get her out of the bathroom…

Having broken box office records and become the third highest grossing play in Broadway history, the creative team includes two and five-time Tony Award winner John Lee Beatty (set design) and Brian MacDevitt (lighting design) as well as also Tony Award recipients Jane Greenwood (costume design), Scott Lehrer (sound design), and Marc Shaiman (incidental music). Directed by another Tony Award winner John Benjamin Hick, the show is produced by Ambassador Theatre Group Productions, Gavin Kalin Productions, Hal Luftig, with James L. Nederlander, Douglas L. Meyer, Elizabeth Armstrong, Hunter Arnold, Caitlin Clements, Eilene Davidson Productions, Jeffrey Finn, Terry Schnuck, Smith and Brant Theatricals, Sherry and Kirk Wright, and Mike Isaacson.
