New cast confirmed for London production of ‘2:22 – A Ghost Story’

The show will extend its run at a new venue, beginning performances by the middle of May. Currently playing at the Lyric and starring Cheryl, Jake Wood, Scot Karim and Louise Ford, the production has proven to be one of the most successful plays in London recently, breaking box office records 5 times.

Believe nothing you hear, and only half that you see… But don’t be distrustful when we tell you that the West End continues to be haunted for at least one more season. After all, the menacing presence of this site still lurks around on every press night. And apart from that, 2:22 – A Ghost Story keeps wowing audiences with its unexpected twists and turns (a few bunch of scares), now about to welcome its new cast and transferring to its next venue – don’t worry if orientation is not your thing, surely you can cope with the building the next door.

In regards with its moving from the Lyric to the Apollo Theatre, producers have announced today who will be joining the production, starting by the middle of next month. For this new run, US actress Sophia Bush (One Tree Hill, Good Sam) will play Lauren, while Ricky Champ (Him & Her, Eastenders) will be Ben; Clifford Samuel (McMafia; Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll), Dan and Jaime Winstone (Kidulthood, Donkey Punch), Jenny.

“I am elated to be joining this wonderful cast in 2:22 – A Ghost Story!”, says Bush. “For this revered production to be my West End debut is a dream come true for me. One that I can’t wait to share with live audiences in the UK. We’re deep in rehearsals now and there is just nothing like the energy and comradery of the theatre community. Diving into this rich material is a thrill; exploring these complex relationships, and what makes each of our characters tick. The clear vision from our creative team led by Danny, Matthew, and Gabe serves as a bright North Star. I’m honoured to be welcomed into this family with open arms as I bring my version of ‘Lauren’ to life”.

Written by Danny Robins and directed by Matthew Dunster, the show tells the uncanny story of a couple moving to a new house, soon to find it to be haunted by a spirit that always manifests at the exact same time – 2:22. First performed at the Noel Coward, the production has been around an extensive number of venues, including the Gielgud and the Criterion. Currently starring Cheryl, Jake Wood, Scot Karim and Louise Ford, this last run has broken the record for box office weekly takings for a play 5 times.

2:22 – A Ghost Story will start performances at London’s Apollo Theatre on 14 May. Tickets are available on the following link.
